Place: Stanley Park. The space has been reserved at Prospect Point Picnic area (It’s just a little further West than Prospect Point). There is a nice view of Point Atkinson from this field. This is because many of the trees that were blocking the view, blew down in 2006 due to a hurricane force wind storm. I went by the site yesterday and it’s very nice with a big grass field.
Details:
Sheltered (in case of rain). Picnic tables under-cover.
Counter with sinks (no cooking appliances or fridge available)
3 power outlets (15 amp only)
Hot coal disposal pit
Washrooms
Shuttle bus stop
Pay parking close by with 2 accessible stalls
Food: Bring something to BBQ and something to share (Let me know if you can bring a portable BBQ) Otherwise bring charcuterie or something. If you are sharing a salad, make sure it is transported cold, so we don’t get food poisoning. Beverages: The City of Vancouver is planning another pilot project to allow alcohol consumption in 2022 in some City parks. Hopefully including Stanley Park again, as it was in 2021. I asked the Parks Board to please “hurry up” with it. LOL! Seating: Bring lawn chairs. Maximum of 2 - 10’X10’ pop up tents allowed. Otherwise, you may have to sit at one of those uncomfortable a picnic tables. Bocce: Bring a set of bocce balls if you have it.
Sense of Humour: Definitely bring this.
